The primitive campsites were dedicated in honor of Donald Brittin for his commitment to the betterment of Kinkaid Lake. Don, in conjunction with the Illinois Youth Camp in Murphysboro, Kinkaid Village, and Kinkaid Reed's Creek Conservancy District, constructed the campsites for the enjoyment of the Kinkaid Lake visitors. Don has always been involved in any activity that advanced the quality of Kinkaid Lake.
